Professional supervision designed for rural counsellors

here's how i can help

I offer three supervision options each designed specifically for rural and regional counsellors who need more than generic, urban-based guidance.

My approach uses the STEP UP method, a comprehensive framework that ensures every aspect of your professional life receives attention. â€‹What makes this different from traditional supervision is the conversational, responsive way we move through these domains. You're free to focus on what's urgent for you in any given session, but over time we ensure nothing gets overlooked - your clinical work, professional development, boundaries, business, and critically, your own wellbeing. Because sustainable practice in rural communities requires attention to all of these areas, not just your caseload.

Whether you choose individual sessions for focused, one-on-one support or group supervision for peer connection and shared learning, you'll receive supervision that honors the complexity of what you're navigating every day.

LET'S CONNECT

Before committing to supervision, let's have a conversation. This free 15-minute call gives us a chance to meet, discuss what you're looking for in supervision, and go over the supervision agreement. We'll talk about your practice context, the challenges you're experiencing, and whether individual or group supervision, or a blend of both might work best for you. There's no pressure - just an opportunity to explore how Outback Supervision could support your professional development.

FOCUSED DEVELOPMENT

One hour of dedicated supervision time, tailored entirely to your practice needs. Using the STEP UP method, we systematically work through clinical support, professional tracking, ongoing education, performance goals, self-care, and practice sustainability - all delivered in a conversational style that responds to your immediate priorities. Your first session focuses on getting to know you as a practitioner, your context, and your goals. From there, I'll provide support where you need it most while ensuring all aspects of your profesisonal practice remain balanced. Monthly sessions help you build confidence in ethical decision-making, navigatedual-relationships, and develop sustainable practice in your regional community. $100 per session, delivered via Zoom (or phone if internet challenges arise).

Each session includes 45 minutes of training on relevant topics for regional practice, 15 minutes for questions and discussion, a short break then a facilitated conversation where you can talk about your challenges - ethical dilemmas, case questions, practice concerns etc for collaborative exploration. You'll gain structured learning, diverse perspectives from peers facing similar situations, and the profound relief of discovering you're not alone in facing the complexities of rural counselling.
